ADD or IDD...Do You Have It?

Hey Reader,

Do you suffer from IDD? No, it’s not a typo. I’m talking about Intention Deficit Disorder.

It’s the gap between what you planned to do and what you actually did. And let’s face it, we’ve all been there—when our good intentions go one way, but our actions somehow wander in the opposite direction.

Think about it. If you had followed through on every goal and intention you’ve ever set, where would you be right now?

That dream career? You’d be crushing it.

Your relationships? Flourishing.

That hobby you intended on starting? Yep, you'd be there, too.

In short, your life would look very close to exactly the way you’ve always imagined it.

But here’s the kicker: this “Intention Deficit” shows up most in our fitness and nutrition.

“I was going to stick to my meal plan, but those cookies were calling my name.”

“I planned to hit the gym, but life happened and I got sidetracked.”

Sound familiar?

The bigger your IDD, the more you struggle with your health goals. And the more frustrated you get. But here’s the thing: If you keep that gap small—let’s say around 10-20%—you’d see incredible results.

I mean, who wouldn’t want a life where only 10-20% of your intentions slip through the cracks?

Do the same with your workouts and nutrition, and you’ll be hitting your fitness goals with ease. (And yes, maybe that 10-20% can include a cookie or two—it’s all about balance, right?)

You best believe I have ice cream and cookies in my more intentional life : )

Major shoutout to Bill Hartman for teaching this to me almost two decades ago.

So, where’s your IDD at these days? Let’s close that gap together.

Lift Life!

Or maybe you had a weekend that was... Let’s just say, nutritionally adventurous. : )We’ve all been there and it’s tempting to...

Hey Reader, What if the “best” time to work out isn’t as simple as you think? Some people swear by their crack-of-dawn workouts. Others crush it in the evening. I have done both. Morning vs. Evening: What’s the Deal? One study found that evening workouts led to better muscle gains. Sounds great, right? But the catch is, these people were used to training at different times, which might have skewed the results. Another study with basketball players showed afternoon workouts boosted...
