She was really struggling...

Hey Reader,

It’s not worth it. None of it.

The frustration when you skip a workout.

The guilt after eating something “off plan.”

The self-doubt that whispers, “You’ll never get there.”

The comparisons to others who seem “further ahead.”

None of this is why we’re here.

We’re not meant to live in a cycle of judgment toward others or ourselves. It’s not who we truly are. The harsh voices in our heads that say, “You’re not good enough” or, “You’ll never change”?

They’re learned behaviors.

One of my clients this week was really struggling with that internal dialogue she was having with herself. She was in the gutter.

Negativity, self-criticism, and fear are taught to us. They pull us away from our true nature. The part of us that thrives on growth, love, compassion, and joy.

But here’s the good news: we can break the chain.

  • Instead of beating yourself up for missing a workout, celebrate the moments you do show up.
  • Instead of labeling foods as “good” or “bad,” focus on how they nourish and fuel you.
  • Instead of comparing yourself to someone else, honor the progress you’ve made on your unique path.

When you shift the focus from what’s wrong to what’s right, everything changes.

Imagine being someone who:

  • Encourages others to keep going, instead of rolling your eyes at their beginner steps.
  • Smiles at yourself in the mirror "just cause", instead of criticizing every imperfection.
  • Celebrates small wins, instead of dwelling on perceived failures.

We’re not here to live in shame, guilt, or comparison. We’re here to thrive, to grow, and to be proud of who we’re becoming.

So, the next time you catch yourself falling into that old mindset of judgment, pause.

Remind yourself of this truth: You’re allowed to be kind to yourself. You’re allowed to be a work in progress.

Let’s break the chain, one kind choice at a time.

Lift Life!

It’s the little things you do every day, even when life gets crazy. Especially when life gets "cray...

Hey Reader, Fall flu and cold season has arrived. My kids classmates are swarming with germs, not my kids of course though : )Catching a cold and getting sick can feel like a setback right? You’re staying on track with your goals, feeling like a fitness rockstar, and then bam, life happens. You got sick, like I did last weekend or maybe you missed a workout or two? Or maybe you had a weekend that was... Let’s just say, nutritionally adventurous. : )We’ve all been there and it’s tempting to...

Hey Reader, What if the “best” time to work out isn’t as simple as you think? Some people swear by their crack-of-dawn workouts. Others crush it in the evening. I have done both. Morning vs. Evening: What’s the Deal? One study found that evening workouts led to better muscle gains. Sounds great, right? But the catch is, these people were used to training at different times, which might have skewed the results. Another study with basketball players showed afternoon workouts boosted...
